Edey FX Offers Tactical Mobility Platform Solution

Canadian SME Edey FX (Booth 3212) will be showcasing their Light Tactical Trailer (LTT) at CANSEC 2024. Designed specifically to meet the requirements of the Canadian Armed Forces’ Light Forces Enhancement (LFE) and Light Tactical Vehicle (LTV) projects, the LTT provides a flexible cargo platform for highly mobile and offroad-capable light infantry vehicles.

The LTT is a lightweight configurable trailer that is built for the rapid delivery of cargo in combat zones that feature complex terrain. Independent trailing arm suspension allows for maximum suspension travel within the trailer‘s modest footprint. In order to meet customers’ desired specifications, the LTT is designed with a customizable payload capacity and ride height. Further fleet compatibility is achieved by configuring the trailer to share components with the specified tow vehicle (e.g. tires, wheels, brakes).

CANSEC attendees will get a close look at two configurations of the LTT, one equipped with removable sidewalls and another configured with a flat cargo deck with tie-down points for large loads. In addition to external storage cabinets, the LTT features a substantial lower cargo area designed for storage of fuel, ammunition, and other mission essentials.

Versatility of deployment is viewed as an essential aspect of the LTT’s capability. As such, the LTT was designed for air rail, and sea, transport. The trailer can be configured for sling loading and was made to fit within the interior of current RCAF assets.

Designed and built in Canada, the LTT is an example of home-grown innovation.
