Top Aces Makes Strategic Investment in EpiSci

Top Aces Announces Strategic Investment in EpiSci

Top Aces, the world’s only commercial owner and operator of F-16 fighter aircraft, has made an investment in San Diego-based EpiSci, developer of the most trusted, resilient and modular Tactical AI solutions for defence, aerospace and commercial applications.

This investment expands on Top Aces’ commitment of providing world-class training to the next generation of combat leaders, positioning the company at the forefront of development and training in the future ‘human-machine’ collaborative battlefield.

AI is expected to play an increasingly significant role in air combat operations, including adversary air (ADAIR) training. Open architecture in nature, Top Aces’ proprietary ‘Advanced Aggressor Mission System’ (AAMS) permits the rapid integration of AI tools into its F-16 fleet, accelerating the development and deployment of advanced autonomy and crewed-uncrewed teaming in support of next generation fighter pilot training.

Currently, Top Aces’ F-16 crews are delivering advanced ADAIR training to USAF F-35 and F-22 pilots at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) in Florida and Luke AFB in Arizona. AI functions will be integrated into Top Aces’ fleet with industry-leading speed-to-service, offering highly sophisticated threat replication and operational cost efficiencies.

“This is a very significant strategic investment for us,” says Russ Quinn, President, Top Aces Corp. “AI is impacting numerous industries and defense is no exception. By partnering with EpiSci, a leading innovator whose Tactical AI products have demonstrated real-world deployment on a variety of fighter platforms, we are taking a leadership position that directly contributes to the defense of our nation.”

“We are thrilled to work with Top Aces,” said Bo Ryu, Founder and President, EpiSci. “Teaming with a leading ADAIR training provider opens new avenues for our Tactical AI[1]enabled pilot assistance and autonomy development suite. By working together, we will accelerate the advent of the Collaborative Combat Aircraft era where the pilot’s trust in AI is absolutely critical.”
