Hello Canadian software developers!

We’re reaching out to inform you of an exciting opportunity! NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) has released a Request for Information (RFI) for input on their upcoming DIANA Operating System (OS).

The RFI invites responses from:

  • user interface (UI) design firms that can deliver an ultra-modern, world-class user experience that is as beautiful as it is functional; and,
  • best-of-breed Software as a Service (SaaS) vendors with applications that can be seamlessly integrated into DIANA OS.

DIANA’s approach to building the OS is flexible, encouraging contributions from vendors with specialized expertise rather than requiring end-to-end solutions. DIANA is considering several procurement models, including:

  • Single Vendor Model: One company delivers an all-encompassing solution for the DIANA OS.
  • Separation of Concerns Model: Distinct vendors focus on specific areas—such as back-end infrastructure, UI design, and integration—allowing DIANA to select the best solutions for each component.
  • Open-Source Approach: A lead vendor coordinates an open-source framework, supported by a mix of commercial and non-commercial developers.

This RFI is an open call to specialists across these areas, allowing Canadian innovators to showcase solutions that fit within a larger, composable architecture. Whether you focus on front-end user experience, back-end data integration, or secure cloud-based services, DIANA welcomes responses tailored to your company’s unique strengths.
