IMP Aerospace & Defence is pleased to announce the 100 delivery cycle of a CT‑114 Tutor aircraft from its maintenance and modification facility at CFB Trenton. This achievement represents a significant milestone in IMP’s long‑standing support to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Snowbirds Air Demonstrations Squadron Tutor fleet of aircraft.
A handover ceremony for aircraft CT114131 was held on 12 March 2026 and was attended by representatives of the RCAF and Government of Canada, IMP Aerospace senior leadership, invited guests, and the management and personnel who perform daily maintenance and modification work on the Tutor fleet in Trenton. The Trenton team responsibilities include periodic maintenance, restoring stored aircraft to operational readiness, and incorporating life‑extension modifications such as the Avionics Upgrade to 20 selected aircraft. CT114131 is the 13 aircraft to receive the Avionics Upgrade modification with the remaining unmodified aircraft scheduled to be upgraded by IMP Aerospace during 2026.
Tutor modification work is also carried out at IMP Aerospace’s facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There, aircraft receive a full repaint in Snowbird Air Demonstration Team livery and, in coordination with the Trenton team, installation of the Avionics Upgrade and other modifications. The use of the Halifax facilities and technicians in conjunction with the primary operation in Trenton, provides the additional capacity needed to complete the Avionics fleet upgrade within the required customer timeline. This upgrade is necessary for the Snowbirds CT114 Tutor aircraft to be compliant with the required standards to fly in North American airspace. Additionally, the modernized cockpit layout offers simplified navigation, increased situational awareness, and reduced pilot workload.
IMP Aerospace remains committed to supporting the Snowbirds CT114 Tutor fleet with Maintenance and Modifications services in the future.
