It is not too late for you to help the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) to prepare for a quantum world. Help them create a research network to explore defence applications of quantum technologies.

Innovation for Defence, Excellence and Security (IDEaS) will be funding up to $3 million per successful proposal to create multidisciplinary research micro-networks (micro-nets) through its Innovation Networks element to build expertise in the field of quantum technology.

Micro-nets will help develop, integrate and demonstrate quantum technologies that can revolutionize current defence and security capabilities in:

• Quantum sensing and sensors (including for positioning, navigation and timing);

• Quantum communications; and

• Quantum computing, simulations and algorithmes

Innovators who intend to apply to this call must submit a letter of intent by 14:00 (EST) Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

ISC and DND challenges innovators to improve quantum imaging systems

Through Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC), the Department of National Defence (DND) is launching a new quantum challenge aimed at small business. The Department is seeking novel optical sensing technology solutions to improve the operational range, resolution, and acquisition time of eye safe, stealth, secure 3D active imaging systems. For more information, visit the Innovative Solutions Canada Quantum imaging challenge page.

Submit your solution by March 29, 2023.
