CCC Signs Over $500M

For almost 70 years now, CCC is has been the Government of Canada’s designated contracting authority for U.S. DoD acquisitions from Canada. Through our free U.S. DoD Prime Contractor service, we assist Canadian businesses of all sizes to sell their products and services to the U.S. military.

SALES TO U.S. DoD

I’m pleased to report that this year we’re on track to produce record results for Canadian businesses. Since April 1, 2024, the start of CCC’s 2024-2025 fiscal year, CCC has enabled contracts for Canadian businesses from the U.S. Department of Defense (U.S. DoD) valued over $500 million.

By far, the biggest buyer of Canadian defence solutions this year is the U.S. Navy, accounting for over 60% of the total value of contracts signed. Together, the Naval Air Warfare Center, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia, and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center have signed contracts with CCC for Canadian technology and expertise valued over $300 million. The U.S. Army is the next largest buyer with signed contracts valued over $120 million.

Contracts valued up to 5 million dollars: • GDLS – Canada; • Magellan Aerospace; • OSI Maritime Systems; • Schaeffler Aerospace Canada; • Valcom Manufacturing; • W.R. Davis Engineering.

Contracts valued between 5 and 25 million dollars: • CMC Electronics; • Patriot Forge; • QinetiQ Canada.

Contracts valued above 25 million dollars: • Indal Technologies; • GDOTS – Canada; • Rolls-Royce Canada; • Standard Aero

PRODUCTION LAUNCH OF CANADA’S
NEXT-GEN WATERBOMBER

In the same period, CCC celebrated the production launch of the next generation of Canadian waterbombers – the De Havilland Canadair 515. 

Aerial firefighting plays a crucial role in safeguarding communities, especially those countries situated in fire-prone regions. In recent years, Europe has experienced a significant increase in the frequency and intensity of wildfires.

As a result of ongoing cooperation between CCC, De Havilland Canada (DHC), the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism (rescEU) and its Member States, CCC signed government to government (G2G) contracts with six EU countries for the sale of 22 De Havilland Canadair 515. This resulted in the largest purchase order in DHC’s history, enabling the launch of a brand-new aircraft manufacturing line in Canada.

DHC will grow its workforce across Canada by 650 to almost 2000, once production reaches its maximum rate. The De Havilland Canadair 515 program is also expected to create over 2600 indirect jobs through DHC’s supply chain – generating well over 3000 direct and indirect jobs. The delivery of the 22 aircraft is scheduled to begin in time for the 2028 fire season with the final aircraft delivery in 2030.
