CCC signs $3.2 B in G2G contracts for Canadian exporters

CCC is pleased to announce that it signed $3.2 billion in Canadian export contracts during the 2023-2024 fiscal year, of which over $1.4 billion was for defence-related goods and services. The result marks a record-breaking year for CCC, having achieved a 72% increase in defence exports compared to the previous year. CCC helped businesses of all sizes and from across Canada to sell their goods and services to ministries of defence of allied nations. Through government-to-government (G2G) contracts, CCC facilitated a wide range of Canadian exports, from light armoured vehicles and aircraft repairs services to medical care devices and snow removal equipment.

CCC facilitated these exports through Canada’s G2G contracting approach. G2G contracting provides Canadian companies with an alternative vehicle for selling to foreign governments. Every G2G contract has the legal effect of being signed in the name of the Government of Canada and comes with an assurance of contract performance. It minimizes the political, business and payment risks exporters can face when doing business with a foreign government. It also greatly reduces the procurement risks faced by foreign government buyers.

In line with previous years, the U.S. Department of Defense (U.S. DoD) was the largest buyer of defence-related Canadian exports facilitated by CCC in 2023-2024. As part of the Canada-U.S. Defence Production Sharing Agreement (DPSA), CCC is the U.S. DoD’s designated contracting authority for procurements from Canada. Through CCC’s free U.S. DoD Prime Contractor service, Canadian businesses are supported to succeed in the U.S. DoD – the world’s biggest government procurement market.

CCC also facilitated defence-related exports to other Canadian allies through its International Prime Contractor service. This service is design to strengthen Canada’s bilateral relationships while supporting the success of Canadian business abroad. Through the International Prime Contractor service, Canadian businesses use a proven G2G contracting service to find, qualify, pursue, and win sales to foreign governments.

As a Government of Canada leader in international contracting, CCC also supported the Department of National Defence (DND) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) to successfully deliver Canadian military aid to the Government of Ukraine.

The record sales that CCC facilitated in 2023-2024 builds on the corporation’s long tradition of responsible defence trade on a G2G basis. For over 75 years, CCC has been operating at the junction of commerce and international relations to ensure the successful delivery of defence related goods and services to foreign government buyers around the world.
