What DIU Wants to Achieve 

This program is designed for companies ready to move fast, build ambitiously, and deliver meaningful capability within a short development cycle. Key objectives include: 

  • A working MVP within 24 months: 
    Deliver a high‑resolution electro‑optical image of a GEO resident space object from a commercial spacecraft. 
  • Full operational transition within 36 months: 
    Move the system from commercially owned/operated to government owned/operated. 
  • Sustained mission cadence within 48 months: 
    Demonstrate weekly drive‑by or inclined‑track missions during the first year of government operations.
