“The ACADA Team, our membership and partners extend warm congratulations and its appreciation to the 2019 ACADA Industry Excellence Recognition Award recipients. The diversity and capacity of the industry capabilities within the region is reflected by these outstanding companies;

• GeoSpectrum’s creation of a family of C-Bass very low frequency (VLF) units of differing sizes and capabilities, represents a significant step forward for the challenging domain of VLF sound source technology. GeoSpectrum incorporates recent material advances while using components for volume production at its Dartmouth facility. C-Bass continues to garner international interest and is poised to become an industry standard for VLF active sonar applications.

• Ultra’s successful achievement in securing the anti-submarine warfare (ASW) supply of the two largest Canadian Naval contracts over the last year, Canadian Surface Combatant and the Underwater Suite Upgrade (UWSU) is the result of a multiyear focused Sales and Marketing investment and effort conducted by an experienced, dedicated and talented team. These awards along with other sonar programs are generating high-tech jobs in Atlantic Canada in the area of under water acoustics adding significantly to Ultra’s existing export capability.

• 3D Planeta is a recent spinout company commercializing research, technologies and intellectual property developed at UNB. The 3D Planeta team working with researchers from three different labs is focusing on satellite imagery fusion for 3-Dimensional viewing with high fidelity of accuracy, “true” 3D images not computer- generated images. 3D Planeta has also begun to implement bathymetric data in an effort to incorporate 3D image viewing of terrain below water surfaces.

• REDspace recruits’ individuals from diverse backgrounds, talents, skills, experiences and perspectives locally, nationally and internationally.
