The RPAS will provide the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) with a large (the size of a fighter aircraft) and sophisticated remotely piloted aircraft.

The RCAF has launched the ‘next Tactical Aviation Capability Set’ (nTACS) project. The person in charge of nTACS is Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Morris, the RCAF’s Director of Air Requirements for Tactical Aviation.

The Griffon Limited Life Extension (GLLE) project will extend the life of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s fleet of 85 CH-146 Griffon helicopters to at least 2031. The CH-146 is a proven, durable utility tactical transport helicopter that fills a number of functions.

The Government of Canada is acquiring 16 CC-295s to take over the fixed-wing search and rescue duties undertaken by legacy fleets, CC-115 Buffalo aircraft and CC-130H Hercules aircraft.

This project will extend the estimated life expectancy of the CH-149 Cormorant to at least 2042, address obsolescence issues, and ensure compliance with emerging regulations.

Canada is seeking to replace the CP-140 Aurora fleet with a Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
