Minister Garneau Has No Plans to Ground Boeing’s 737 MAX 8

Canada’s Federal Transport Minister, Marc Garneau, spoke to reporters in Montreal today concerning the safety of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 model of aircraft after a fatal crash in Ethiopia which killed 18 Canadians.

Marc Garneau says “all options are on the table” with regard to the country’s fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft but said the government will not order the planes to be grounded at this time.

These planes have already been grounded in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Cayman Islands, China, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Turkey and the United Kingdom
